An evening with Islamic Relief

Another excellent networking event with Islamic Relief's Zia Salik in attendance to promote, encourage and highlight the importance of charity and the work undertaken by Islamic Relief. 

Zia Salik got things underway with a speech on how charity should be always on our minds with key references to the Quran and Hadith.

This was followed by the work of Islamic Relief and a short video presentation. 

Irfan Rashid, Zaheer Mohammed and Zia Salik then conducted the auction of the two artworks donated by Labbaik Arts (www.labbaikarts.co.uk). The funds rasied would be donated to Islamic Relief's sponsor an orphan cause. Whereby £300 would help sponsor an orphan for a whole year. 

In total we rasied an incredible £835!! which included the donations raised from the auction, the Muslim-Network surplus funds and donation at the event itself. 

Muslim-Network would like to thank all those who attended and Islamic Relief, Elevating-Biz and last but not least Labbaik Arts.

Presentation overview:

The talk will centre on the importance of charity in Islam and what we can do to help. Zia will talk about Islamic Relief and their work, his role as fundraising manager at Islamic Relief. This will provide a useful insight into how charities operate and whether we can actively  be involved.  

Labbaik Arts

We will have a few Islamic Art works donated by Labbaik Arts which will be auctioned at the event and all funds will be raised for Islamic Relief. Please come prepared to bid for some fine art work. Please check www.labbaikarts.co.uk
